When I set out to upgrade my 61 year old home and garage with insulation and an acrylic stucco (EIFS) system and stone, I approached product suppliers such as Brock White for contractor references. My criteria was experienced contractors who have a reputation for doing quality work and can do both the stucco and stone. I was given several names, including Ben Lawrence and Premium Stucco. I got a few quotes and Ben was competitive and inspired confidence in his abilities at our meeting. As an engineer, I am interested in the technical aspects and making sure that things are being done correctly and to manufacturer’s recommendations. I also have a keen eye for detail and specific ideas about how I want things to look. Ben and his crew did not disappoint. They patiently answered my technical questions to satisfy any concerns I had. I could see that they were not they were not corner cutters when it came to ensuring the work was done properly and the house will be protected for decades to come. Prior to applying the stucco, they carefully prepared and wrapped the home to prevent damage of window trims, doors etc.. I also benefited from some great suggestions Ben and his crew made on how to lay and integrate the stone with the stucco. The result is fantastic and far better than if I had only used my ideas. The final cost reconciliation for the scope changes I introduced was fairly done. When undertaking a project like this, you have to ask yourself – what kind of contractor do you want to work with? If professional product application and business integrity are high on your list, I would definitely recommend Premium Stucco for completion of a stucco or stone project. ~Larry Karpo, P.Eng.
